Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop low-cost, high-performance FR3 transmitters for 6G devices that enable higher uplink data rates, longer coverage, and energy-efficient operation in both terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. The goal is to demonstrate key technologies, including efficient transmitter architectures, linearization, antenna integration, EMF-compliant solutions, and reach TRL-3 with strong IPR and standardization impact.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to deliver demonstrated FR3 transmitter and antenna solutions with high output power, high efficiency, linearization, and EMF-compliant operation. Results include CMOS chip and antenna prototypes, patent applications, scientific publications, and TRL-3 proof of concept, supporting 6G standardization, lower deployment cost, and stronger Swedish competence in RF and semiconductor technologies.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be carried out through four coordinated work packages covering project management, transmitter architectures and circuitry, linearization, and antenna integration with EMF evaluation. The work combines system studies, CMOS chip design and fabrication, antenna development, co-design across work packages, and measurement-based demonstrations through two planned tape-outs.
