Important results from the project
The project resulted in a tested AI-based platform to structure and partly automate the work permit process. The main goals were largely achieved through pilots, customer dialogue, and validation of a clear market need. An additional key outcome was a deeper understanding of how the system perspective: how employers, candidates, documents, and regulations need to work together in one coherent system.
Expected long term effects
In the longer term, the project is expected to enable faster and more predictable work permit processes, lower administrative burden, and better access to international talent. It has also created a foundation for further commercialization, new partnerships, and a scalable infrastructure for global talent mobility, with potential to strengthen both competitiveness and equality in the labor market.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in three stages: development of an initial prototype of the AI-based platform and employer portal, employer pilots with iterative product development, and evaluation of impact, user insights, and equality aspects. The setup provided both technical validation and a deeper understanding of user needs. It also showed that system perspective, integrations, and user support are key success factors for continued development.
